There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Romans 8:1-17 (bold and italics have been added for emphasis)

Romans 8:1-17 (bold and italics have been added for emphasis)

The gifts of the Spirit and walking in the Spirit are not the same thing. You can receive and walk in the Spirit without the “gifts” being expressed. For example, it is possible to walk in the Spirit, with the fruit of righteousness, peace, joy, and especially love, without prophesying, speaking in tongues, healing the sick, etc..

That is not to say that the gifts aren’t actively available for those who are walking in the Spirit. I’m simply making the distinction between the two. This is important because Jesus didn’t say- they will know them by their speaking in tongues, prophesying, healings and other spiritual gifts! He said that we would be known by our love.

How much better if that love comes with other gifts- but those gifts are for the unifying, not dividing of the body. And if they would be divisive, we should lay them aside so that we can truly love.

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:11-16

So as a part of the body of Christ, we must: Obey Jesus the head, Do not operate in the flesh, rather we must die to my flesh. And thirdly, we must walk in the light.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 John 1:5-10

Success in the spirit is not measured by numbers of people getting baptized, or spiritual gifts being given, but transformed lives through the power of the pure righteous one, Jesus, who layed down His gifts and calling in order that we would have life.

Our gifts, while valuable, are not the goal, but tools he gave to help us to accomplish His purpose. If we use the gifts He gives us contrary to His will, we will be held accountable by God on that day.

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him
Ephesians 1:9-10

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
John 17:20-26

His Kingdom IS at hand! I’m excited like you are! Keep pursuing the kingdom of God. His will on earth as it is in Heaven! That all things in heaven and on earth will be one through Jesus.

Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

He is the pure light, the pure righteousness, and the all consuming fire. When his grace enables us to receive his light, he exposes our darkness, and at the same time burns it and all darkness, and as I walk in his pure light, which is the Holy Spirit, there is no battle with darkness. When his light shines, darkness doesn’t do battle, it flees. His truth doesn’t argue with lies, it is truth. This is what the power of the spirit looks like. And yes, while we are maturing, it includes the gifts – which are available for all who walk in His light (Spirit), and we have access to all gifts whenever they are needed. And we should seek for them.

If we seek the gifts primarily, as has happened in the past 100 years – rather than seek the Kingdom and His righteousness – (which is the gospel, not “being nice to people”, but living inside the power of pure righteousness and light which exposes darkness), the Holy Spirit will follow those who believe and signs and wonders will follow. Those signs are a trail behind us, not in front of us. In front is the kindness, love, and laying down of our lives for our brother.. when he has need, we serve him/her, and heal and cast out demons , and give generously, not primarily to the church, but to the brother who has need.

Regarding money: The church has done exactly what Jesus warned us about. “You cannot serve two masters, you will love one and hate the other”. But the system of the church serves mammon- we have created a system that forces money to be essential for its survival. This is a major problem. While we should be generous in all things, the church is not the storehouse of Malachi, nor is it the place God commanded tithes to be given in Deuteronomy. And yet these lies are spread to this day to manipulate people to give money.

Which we should give money – but not for those reasons, and we should be generous in every aspect of our lives- to other people outside the church as well.

I know that’s another can of worms, but if we were truly walking in discernment of spirits, and prophecy, and apostolic understanding, these things would be obvious to the body.

It is time for the system of the church to be torn down and for the body to submit to Jesus himself as our head and submit one to another, not lording power over one another, rather those who want to be great, must lay their lives down.

That is what the power of the spirit looks like.

The next move of God will manifest in great power- which will be evidenced in loving each other more than we love money, or the church system, or microphones, or music.

God is calling to us! Hear His voice!

Holy http://pray247.org/holy/ Tue, 16 Jul 2024 07:15:15 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3739 God is Holy.

Pure light. Pure truth.

Think about that for a moment. Just take a moment and consider. Light is not in a battle with darkness. Truth doesn’t insist on it’s being correct. They just are, and that is that.

God is the same.

We decided, Eve decided to be exact, that we should have the forbidden knowledge of good and evil. She did not decide to take knowledge, but to defy God directly. To make herself like God. Deciding on good and evil for herself. He said not to take of a fruit, and she decided that he was not good, but that the fruit was good. In that moment, she became “satan”, an adversary to God. Adam joined her, and even blamed her.

Yeshua is the LIGHT. Pure righteousness. He made it possible for us to become one with Him inside His righteousness. To be Holy, with Him. This call is total. It cannot be mixed. He will not be defiled. It’s all or nothing.

It’s not just intense, He is an all consuming fire.

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life[c]—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

1 John 2:15-17

“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

God is Good. http://pray247.org/god-is-good/ Mon, 10 Jun 2024 05:06:02 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3707 Our creator is pure goodness. Absolute righteousness. He is holy. Separate from everything that is not Himself, because he is pure.

We took the knowledge God had of evil and good, and so made ourselves little gods, making ourselves into judges of good and evil, when God is Goodness itself, and the definition is not open to interpretation as we like to suppose.

We took truth and made it subject to our will. We decide what is good (as if we were God). But God IS goodness itself. He is the standard and there is no other. In God, there is no mixture. He is pure. He is THE truth. Since God is righteousness itself, by eating the fruit and becoming judges of what is good and evil, we immediately become against God, as our will (being free), choosing anything, even a “good” thing, immediately defile the thing we call good, as it is not “Good”, no one is pure good except God. Everything else compared to his goodness, is an idol.

God created man in His image, and called us good! But in our new found knowledge from the tree, we now have mixture inside of us. We chose knowledge, and so our corrupted thoughts guide us to decide what is good, thereby ourselves becoming evil (or against God).

God is good only. There is no evil in him. He will not tolerate evil inside himself.

The purpose of sending His only son, who is Good only, is to purify that which is mixed. To wake us from the grave and to shine His light on us. His light is pure righteousness. Pure. Forgiveness and love.

19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

John 3:19-21

My will, which has mixture, must die (daily) so that His will can be done through me.

Is there a way to live my life looking for the pure righteousness of Heaven instead of focusing on my sad, depraved mixture?

Righteousness is not gentle, it’s violent! Righteousness is devastating to mixture. Truth is devastating to lies. Light is devastating to darkness. Yes, I should live in the Light. Inside of him, and Him inside of me.

Following Jesus means dying to my will and seeking His will. Daily.

For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Ephesians 5:14

Not my will, but yours be done.

Luke 22:42b

Let Your Kingdom come! Your will be done! On earth as it is in heaven.

Honest Self-Evaluation http://pray247.org/honest-self-evaluation/ Mon, 13 May 2024 05:11:53 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3701 It’s time for an honest, self-evaluation. God wants us to return to him. Inside of Him. The goal is to be one with our Father God.

The requirement is for us to die to ourselves. This means that we are not seeking our will to be done, but for His will to be done. And our will is becoming His Will as we become ONE with Him.

Here’s a self-evalutation list:

  • Am I seeking the Kingdom of God First?
  • How’s my Family Life?
  • Do I have delusions of grandeur?
  • Do I have delusions of failure?
  • Am I walking in the Spirit? Daily?
  • Is my physical house clean?
  • Is my room clean?
  • Do I have healthy eating habits? Good food?
  • Do I have healthy sleep habits?
  • What Motivates me?

Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Surrender All? http://pray247.org/surrender-all/ Tue, 07 May 2024 17:57:00 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3676 One of the great fallacies in the Christian world is that if you profess to believe in something, that means you actually believe it.

There’s an old Christian song, “I surrender all”. The words are good, but singing them doesn’t mean you live as if they are true. (even if you feel good about it at the moment, and even mean it with all your heart.

Faith is a practice and a process, not only a decision.

Am I daily surrendering to the will of God? Trusting Him fully and submitted to Him so that only His will can be done through me? In those moments, my life is no longer my own. If I die, I die to Him, and if I live, I live to Him.

Seek & You will Find http://pray247.org/seek-you-will-find/ Sat, 27 Apr 2024 06:02:06 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3665 Whatever you set your heart on and seek after, that you will find.

This is a principle in life.

Jesus said, “but seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Anything we put first before these is in direct disobedience to his commandment.

In context, this is in regards to eating food, clothing, and even a place to live. “Do not worry about tomorrow, tomorrow has enough worries of its own.”

What does it mean to “seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness”?

First I think to recognize what you are seeking first, and turn (repent) from that as a priority.

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV).

When Jesus called Peter to come to him on the water, with eyes fixed on Jesus, Peter “got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.” But when he looked at the waves, he began to sink.

If we are fixed on Jesus, on His kingdom, on His righteousness, we rely on His power, His authority, and His grace to uphold us. But when we look to our own strength, wisdom and logic, we reattach ourselves to this world, and sink into the filthy, slimy, mucky water that would tear us away from our Jesus, our freedom. He is THE door. But it is not a logical door. He is freedom, and it’s not by our understanding. It’s by faith that we seek him.

My Generation http://pray247.org/my-generation/ Sat, 27 Apr 2024 05:47:45 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3646 Generation after generation have run after the wrong things, believing they’ll find happiness, success, depth, love, etc.. but finding loneliness instead.

When will I stand up for my generation? And tell them the truth of the Gospel.

Truth requires love. Love requires truth. They go together They cannot be separated.

Love isn’t the answer, it’s the motivation. Truth in love. Discipline in love. Hope in love. Faith in love.

Self preservation is the path to losing your soul.

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

– Luke 9:23-24

“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will you heart be also.

– Luke 12:32-34

16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,

17 “‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’

18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”[f]

Woe to Unrepentant Cities

20 Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”

Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest

25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

– Matthew 11:16-26

Who is Jesus? http://pray247.org/who-is-jesus/ Fri, 26 Apr 2024 05:58:57 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3614 I’m glad you asked.

Jesus, real name: Yeshua, was a man born to a Jewish mother and father, was raised as a Jew, had a bar mitzvah around 12 years old (coming of age, becoming a “son of the commandments”). He was trained by Joseph as a carpenter, but become a Rabbi, or a teacher of the Torah (Hebrew Scriptures) – what Christians irreverently refer to as the “old” testament. He chose 12 disciples, as was the custom of Rabbis in those days.

So quick recap of my recap: Yeshua was a teacher of the “Old” testament. That was what he came from heaven to earth to do. He could have done or been anyone. And he chose to be a teacher of the Torah.

Maybe this would be a good time to think about why Christians don’t study the “old” testament very much. Ok.. enough – moving on…

Yeshua not only taught the Torah, he kept it. Perfectly. He was often questioned about his practices in keeping of Torah.. why was he questioned so hard on this? Because he was a rabbi. And as a Rabbi, he was a teacher of Torah, and thus an authority, and other sects of Judaism had a problem with how he kept Shabbat while healing people, and allowing his disciples to rub wheat chaff and eat it on Shabbat (both of these acts were considered work by them, although neither is forbidden by the Torah).

The thing which they wanted to stone him for, however, was when he claimed to be the son of man.

He taught his disciples how to keep Torah. That is literally what his sermons were about. And when His disciples became “apostles”, they were too busy studying the Torah to feed the widows, so they appointed a group of 7 men to do that so they could focus on studying the “Old” Testament. (Acts 6:2-7 (this is only in part – please read in con “It is not pleasing for us to leave the word of God to attend tables… therefore pick out 7 men of good repute… But we will devote ourselves to the ministry of the word.”

NKJV – Acts 6:2-7 (full quote)

Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.

Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

He’s not a tame lion http://pray247.org/what-is-the-good-news/ Fri, 26 Apr 2024 05:31:37 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3604 Many people think they can believe in a God whom they fictitiously create on their own. Someone who is loving, and gentle and kind and long-suffering, forgiving, humane… someone who loves them unconditionally and will always be gentle to everyone. He will give everyone a second, third, fourth and fifth chance, and on forever, because he is so benevolent. “Way more benevolent than I am”, they presume.

But they refuse to believe that he is a God of judgment. a God of war. A God of discernment, or discrimination. A God who rejects evil – who hates darkness and will not tolerate it. He will shine and expose all works of darkness. He will not tolerate dissension, or disputes, much less will he allow sexual sin or lying.

“Those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven.”

If you believe 50% of the truth, you believe 100% of a lie.

We don’t get to choose who Yeshua is. We must simply follow Him.

Shabbat http://pray247.org/shabbat/ Fri, 26 Apr 2024 05:14:26 +0000 https://pray247.org/?p=3583 The signet ring.

God gave us a gift. Once a week, he told us to rest, as he rested. A reminder, a connection, a holy day, a delight. This day is not meant as a religious observance, but as a joyful day to separate from the mundane, and connect with the Holy one who created the heavens and the earth in 6 days.

God made us as a mirror reflection of himself. We need to stop and reflect every week on shabbat.

It’s a need. We need it. We forget we are made in His image so easily. We love to create, and build and we deceive ourselves so quickly into thinking we have created something better.. but everything we do is copywork. We reflect what He has already done. Or we reflect someone else, or something else. And any of those other reflections is idolotry. So we must return to our mirror and re-calibrate!

It should be a joy and a delight, not a difficult, demanding yoke.

Thus says the Lord:
“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
for soon my salvation will come,
    and my righteousness be revealed.
Blessed is the man who does this,
and the son of man who holds it fast,
who keeps the Sabbath, not profaning it,
and keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord say,
    “The Lord will surely separate me from his people”;
and let not the eunuch say,
“Behold, I am a dry tree.”
For thus says the Lord:
“To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths,
who choose the things that please me
    and hold fast my covenant,
I will give in my house and within my walls
    a monument and a name
    better than sons and daughters;
I will give them an everlasting name
that shall not be cut off.

“And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord,
to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord,
    and to be his servants,
everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it,
    and holds fast my covenant—
these I will bring to my holy mountain,
    and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
    will be accepted on my altar;
for my house shall be called a house of prayer
    for all peoples.”
The Lord God,
who gathers the outcasts of Israel, declares,
“I will gather yet others to him
    besides those already gathered.”

Isaiah 56:1-8
